Our client are ideally looking for a Senior Account Manager who wants to progress to Director to join their growing successful. Ideally, our client would want someone who is based in the South East, as the role will require working both in our Croydon office as well as from our new office in Brighton a couple of days a week.
Our client has decades of experience in generating brand awareness in the media, helping amplify their clients products, drive sales and gain share of voice. But that’s not all they do, our client can also offer their clients a full social media service, event organization experience and internal communication tools
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
A minimum of five years’ worth of experience within consumer, trade and corporate PR preferred, although within the beauty (essential) and health industry is preferred it is not essential.
Extensive knowledge of the PR industry gained either in-house or within agency.
Excellent communication skills – both on the telephone and face-to-face.
Team management experience essential and must be a clear communicator with team.
Good planning and organising skills essential.
Resilient - essential.
Strategic thinker - essential.
Proactive – essential.
Natural flair for ensuring coverage targets are met by team and a passion for ensuring client service is maintained at the highest level essential.
Down to earth attitude, team player essential and not precious about menial tasks.
Strong client management experience - essential.
Strong writing skills (media releases, news creation releases, articles, Q & A’s, strategy documents, pitch documents). Able to write creatively and good attention to detail.
Creativity – both in proposing PR ideas as well as within ways of working.
Experience in social networking preferred but not essential.
Experience in pitching for new business preferred but not essential.
Able to work in a fast paced office and committed to meeting deadlines.
A flexible approach to work is essential.
Able to think laterally about ‘year ahead’ PR calendar essential.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Overall management of key accounts within our clients PR’s portfolio including being the main point of liaison for some clients.
Overall management of team/team members in relation to client work and coverage expectations. To help Managing Director set objectives, expectations and manage workload of junior team members.
Working with our clients Managing Director/New Business Manager to support new business generation and procurement. To generate new business leads, draft new business documents, attend pitch meetings and help to build the business.
Working with Managing Director/New Business Manager to support social media activity. Helping with blogging and overall management of team to ensure blogging is conducted.
Weekly liaison with journalists on national, consumer, regional, trade, website (health, beauty, fashion, entertainment, bloggers) and broadcast media to negotiate regular, monthly
Managing team to ensure key press relationships are forged and maintained (includes press requests and ensuring they are fulfilled quickly, face to face contact with media, proactive contact with beauty/health writers to secure product coverage in beauty/health features
