Senior Java Developer long term contract role with a large company in central Bristol. You'll work as a key developer on enterprise level web based applications for the financial markets. They work the full stack of development, from the database through to the HTML and JavaScript. Technologies used include Java 8, Spring Boot, Oracle database, ActiveMQ, Thymeleaf and JQuery. You'll work an agile way, with sprints (planned in Jira), retrospectives, automated testing (using Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, PhantomJS), and an automated build server (Jenkins), product-centric development. To be suitable for this role you must have proven skills in core Java development, ideally in a large high performing technical environment, along with a breadth of skills across all associated technology. Ideally you'll be able to start on 21st March (maybe sooner), and no later than 28th March. The initial contract will be 6 months, with a good chance of extension.
