Butler Rose have been engaged by our client, a well established and successful business based in Southampton, who is looking for a Payroll and Finance Accountant on an initial temporary appointment but with the potential to be made permanent. The focus of this job role is to undertake the core month and quarter end processes, reporting directly into the Finance Manager. Key duties of this position include monthly and weekly payroll processing, VAT return preparation, banking, balance sheet reconciliation and all associated Finance administration tasks to ensure the finance team meet all reporting deadlines and that the Payroll is run smoothly. This is a broad role and will require someone with a proactive but organised attitude and someone with strong communication skills. In order to be successful you will have undertaken similar tasks previously, possess a sound working knowledge of Sage Accounting and Sage Payroll software and be minimum AAT qualified. You will form an integral part of the Finance team and so those finance professionals who are driven by the opportunity to operate in a visible role will be well suited to this position.
