Design Manager Vickers Neal Recruitment Solutions are currently working with Elegant Clutter at their offices based in Warwick. Elegant Clutter are recruiting a Design Manager to join their growing team that specialises in designing, manufacturing and installing bespoke artwork, sculptures, wall coverings and accessories for the Hospitality and Leisure Industry. Reporting directly to the Creative Director, the role is focused on the leadership, development and organisation of our design team. The ideal background for this role would be a relevant creative degree coupled with significant experience in a relevant industry. The candidate will already have experience of how to manage and inspire creative teams. A strong understanding of aesthetics and visual design is essential in this role. Particularly relevant degree subjects are Graphic Design, Illustration, Animation, Textile design and Fine Art. However, proven management ability within a creative organisation is equally important. Role Responsibilities: Leadership of the Artwork Design Team •Encourage and inspire the design team members (currently 6 people) to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources and talents in a cost effective way. •Set and communicate clear expectations for the team members •Foster a collaborative team environment where team members support each other to achieve shared goals. •Work with Creative Director on annual appraisals, frequent reviews and strategy for how the team can develop for the future. •Communicate with clients to help develop briefs and gain understanding of how we can work together. Organisation and Planning: •Planning and organisation of all digital and illustration design work going through EC. •Ensuring they work as far in advance as possible so they are always completing design work in good time. •Communicating with and supporting other department Managers to allow closer links and shared knowledge across departmental teams. Artwork Design: •Overseeing and supporting on the design of all digital artwork, to include: Digital design for print Illustration and original artwork for print Large format digital murals EC presentation media •Helping designers to achieve efficiency and creativity •Help discover what the best methods are and bringing them in to the team. •Work with the Product Design Manager to take some of their design work into 3D objects and sculpture. •Encouraging inspiration from all areas of design/industry/nature etc to spark new ideas and creations. Stock Artwork Resources: •Research and discover stock resources for artwork content. •Develop and grow this resource. EC Marketing/Brand: •Employ design team resource to help with live marketing and branding efforts •Contribute to development of digital artwork/branding for EC Presentations & Exhibitions: •Oversee design teamwork and guide on layout and all digital artwork for tenders, concept proposals and exhibition artwork. The pace of work is very fast and this role will only suit candidates who can juggle a wide variety of deadline driven tasks.
