ARBORISTS / UTILITY ARBORISTS required for NATIONAL FRAMEWORK - MIDLANDS CONTRACTS Self-motivated and looking to join a tree surgery team, work locally and have the opportunity for further career development? SALARY INFO: DOE and level/grade SECTOR: Infrastructure, Civil Engineering ROLE: Utility Arborists, Arborist Operative LOCATIONS: Birmingham, Tipton, Coventry, Warwick, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Lincolnshire, Worcestershire, Hereford, Shropshire ROLE OVERVIEW Highly experienced in utility arboriculture, my client has been recently awarded a substantial contract to deliver utility arboriculture across the Midlands network area and as part of this framework and general expansion plans they are seeking a number of experienced Utility Arborist to make up and join their regional teams. Reporting to the Contract Supervisor, Chargehand or Team Leader, the successful arborist’s will be responsible for carrying out off-ground and on-ground arboricultural duties as required (including tree pruning, dismantling and felling) and undertaking basic arboricultural operations/ Utility Arboriculture with appropriate respect for health and safety at all times and regard for third party property. ROLE DESCRIPTION Key Responsibilities: * Primary Arboricultural Works and Utility Arboriculture in accordance with WCENS standard practice * Branch removal with power saws and hand tools and the ability to perform aerial rescue tree felling with power saws and hand tools, brushwood chipping, traffic management, work site organisation * To assist colleagues in their work, for example the complex breakdown of a tree’s crown and the dismantling of the stem * Interpretation of plans, site preparation and management * To represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with clients or the public. WHAT’S REQUIRED? As an experienced Arborist you must be able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and experience of arboriculture, ideally associated within the utility industry. Qualifications As a Skilled Arborist you will have received adequate training and hol, be able to produce, relevant certificates of competence in relevant subjects, as issued by the NPTC, or other such bodies. Suitable NPTC units include: * · NPTC CS Units: o Climb Trees o 02 Perform Aerial Rescue o CS 30 to CS 35 o CS 39 to CS 45 o CS 47 Use of Chainsaw From a MEWP * · NPTC UA Units: UA 1, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3.,3,5 * · WPD Authorisation * · First Aid Appointed Person * · Risk Assessment * · Roads and Streetworks Act Units 1 & 2 * · PA1/PA6 Pesticides Personal Qualities Among the personal characteristics sought will be: * · A high level of initiative and self-motivation * · Effective time management, administration skills * · High attention to detail * · Strong relationship building skills coupled with excellent communication skills * · Flexible approach to duties PROCESS - Interviews to be arranged ASAP upon candidate selection over the next two weeks Please apply directly to Caroline Murphy on (Apply online only) or at Please Note: You must be living and eligible to work in the UK to apply for this position.
