Business Development Executive - Marketing Technology - London

The Company

My client has recently been awarded a number of accolades in relation to their top of the range product. They specialise in Web Analytics, and have recently been voted above the likes of Google Analytics for their completion of product.

Originally founded in Central Europe, they have a great global presence, with a number of offices covering EMEA, the US and APAC. The team in London is currently headed up by the Managing Director who runs a tight-knit team, who are passionate about their clients and the product and service they can provide to said clients, on a global scale.

The Role

The successful Sales Development Representative will be working solely as the point of contact for business development responsibilities, based from their Central London office. The role would require you to focus around business development and generation of strong leads for the Managing Director and Account Executive team to convert into closed revenue. The right candidate will have a great attitude towards new business, coupled with an ability to communicate strongly with enterprise to mid-market level clients.

The long-term vision for this role, is for the right candidate to come in at this stage and grow out the new business function completely, with the view to grow out a team, depending on success in the next 12-18 months.

  • Develop new relationships through phone, email, and social media communications in order to establish meetings with senior level decisions makers in companies.
  • Assess the prospect's needs, explain the solution, qualify the prospect, and schedule meetings for your Sales Managers to begin their sales process.
  • Assist in the consultative sales process by learning as much as you can about a prospect and sharing that information with the relevant Sales Manager.
  • Work strategically in Tandem with the Managing Director along with the technical product team to research potential targets and identify key players and penetrate those targets by using creative strategies and tactics.
  • Utilise their sales database and marketing automation tools to manage your pipeline and maintain accurate information about suspects, prospects, and their companies.

The Candidate

The successful Business Development Executive will possess the following skills and experience:

  • 1 + years of experience in a market/sales development role.
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent experience.
  • Good eye for detail and comfortable in a fast-paced, ever-changing startup environment.
  • Ambitious, self-motivated and driven, personable, able to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Receptive to ideas and feedback.
  • Previous experience prospecting for an Enterprise SaaS technology business.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com and marketing automation platforms like Marketo and Eloqua.
  • Proven track record achieving measurable monthly lead development goals with a senior level audience.
  • A solid understanding of what it takes to effectively manage and execute inbound and outbound prospecting strategies.
  • Fluent knowledge of either business French and/or German would be considered an advantage.
